High-Level Meeting Strengthens Lao, Bulgarian Cooperation
  Laos and Bulgaria have vowed to continue exchange visits of delegates to discuss economic, trade, education, investment and tourism cooperation between the two countries.

Wife of U.S. Vice President Visits Laos

Dr. Jill Biden, the wife of the Vice President of the United States Joe Biden, visited Laos from July 21-22. She was accompanied by Catherine Russell, the U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women's Issues. During their visit, they discussed educational opportunities for women and girls and highlighted the growing partnership between the United States and Laos.

Laos appoints new Ambassador to U.S.

President Choummaly Sayasone recently appointed Mr. Mai Sayavongs to be new Lao Ambassador to the United States of America.  Based in Washington D.C., the Lao Embassy is also responsible for the country's diplomatic missions in Canada and Mexico.
