H.E. Sisavath Inphachanh took up his duty as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to the United States of America in May 2022. Prior to taking up his current duty, Ambassador Sisavath Inphachanh served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao PDR to Australia and New Zealand from 2018 to 2022.
Ambassador Sisavath Inphachanh’s diplomatic career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR spans 33 years. In 1989, he joined Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR in Department of Eastern Europe. In 1995 to 1996, he was assignd to Asia-Pacific and Africa Department. From 1997 to 2000, he served as the Third Secretary at the Embassy of the Lao PDR to the Kingdom of Thailand. He then served as Director of Lao-Thai Affairs Division, Asia-Pacific and Africa Department in 2001 to 2004. He was assigned to the Embassy of the Lao PDR to the United States of America and Canada as the First Secretary in 2005 to 2006 and was subsequently assigned as Principal Secretary to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR in 2006-2012. After that, he was appointed as Director-General of Consular Department from 2013 to 2018.
Ambassador Sisavath Inphachanh graduated from Kiev State University, Ukraine (former USSR), he received his Master of Arts in International Relations. He then received his second degree of Master in International Relations, Wollongong University, NSW, Australia.
Ambassador Sisavath Inphachanh is married to Mrs. Khamphan Inphachanh, and has two children.
